Friday 30th March to Sunday 1st April. JKHS DofE Practice Expedition

The John Kyrle High School and Sixth Form Centre Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Practice Expedition. Camped Friday night at Glangwy near Llangurig and Saturday night at Tyllwyd, near Cwmystwyth. 8 students in two walking groups completed exercises in navigating and walking with loaded packs in the beautiful wild country of this area. Supervisors accompanying me were Derek Pawling and Jez Day. Sunday morning started with frozen tents at dawn but turned out beautiful once the sun was up.
